What’s your take on affirmations I wonder?
Personally, after years in an on off relationship with affirmations, I came to realise that as I use them everyday in one way or another, I must actually like them and the idea of them.
…and you do too. Use them that is. Just take a moment to think how often you say something to yourself over and over again throughout your day, month, life.
You know the sort of thing… ‘I can’t do that’ or ‘I’m too fat/too ugly/too stupid’. I’m sure you get the drift.
Yes, that’s right, affirmations aren’t just those overly positive, sickly sweet, positive-thinky sentences that get bandied about. They are, simply put, positive or negative thoughts or language that are repeated repeatedly (!) often unconsciously.
So if you’re using them anyway, why not make it a conscious, simple affair?
This is the only affirmation you really need.
“Today is going to be a great day”
Stick it on your bathroom mirror and speak it out loud every day!
